Code Master Adult Braille Learning Systen

Code Master is a system for learning braille that is organized around the logic of the braille code and breaks down the process of learning braille into two parts: learning the code and developing reading speed and fluency in reading by touch. learn more about Code Master

Code Master is used in the Iowa Blindness Empowerment and Independence Center at the Iowa Department for the Blind and is available to all agency IL and VR clients. Residents of Iowa who are patrons of the Iowa Library for the Blind and Print Disabled can borow Code Master from this NLS member library. It may be available in other states through inter-librarly loan. The Iowa Library also offers a program for sighted educators and family members to learn braile called Braille Bits. Code Master is free to use and copy as long as you don’t sell it or alter the materials. It is our goal to promote braille literacy and make Code Master available to all that can use it as affordably as possible.

If you have access to a braille embosser, you can assemble the binders and NLS cartridges or thumb drives yourself. Below are the basic instructions for handling the files.
